About Carolyn Ferreira, PsyD
I am a Licensed Clinical Psychologist (#2550) in the state of Oregon. I received my doctorate in psychology (PsyD) from Pacific University in Hillsboro, Oregon and completed my pre-doctoral internship at Utah Valley University's college counseling center.
I have been working in the mental health field since 2006. I have worked in adult and adolescent residential centers, dual diagnosis/recovery facilities, community mental health centers, college counseling centers, and state prisons. As a result, I have provided services to people from many different backgrounds with a wide variety of concerns. I am most passionate about helping men and women kick bad habits, strengthen relationships, and overcome life's many challenges.
My main approach to therapy is Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), which is a type of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). I also have training in CBT, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and Motivational Interviewing. I am knowledgeable regarding Gottman Method and Emotion Focused Therapy (EFT) for couples counseling, and I incorporate these approaches when working with people experiencing relationship problems.
I moved to the PNW from the East Coast several years ago to attend Pacific University and am a converted West Coaster (although I still root for Boston sports teams, especially BoSox). I moved to Bend in 2014 and am excited to call Central Oregon my home. I love the mountains, the four seasons, the Western lifestyle, and exploring the outdoors with my dog, a Catahoula mutt named Trigger.
